Question
What does "helping him out" mean? Does that mean paying for it? If so, that is more a matter of whether you can afford to never get that money back. Him owing you money will change your relationship and not in a good way. If it means helping him get into rehab, a ride or watering his plants, sure, do it. People enter rehab for many reasons, not the least of which is to try to get out of legal trouble. They can still be helped, despite the motivation. For some people, it takes going to jail or prison for a while to motivate them to change. Meth is a powerfully reinforcing drug. It is not easy to recover from its use.
