More about Oxford House - Brighton Avenue

A model of peer run recovery houses; men and women and women with children may apply to live in a completely sober Oxford house. Normally serves as a transitional home after a detox or a 28 day program.

As a non-profit organization, residents are only expected to contribute to their fair share of the running of the house expenses, and since there are generally between 8-15 people per home, these monthly payments are low enough to be affordable to anyone who can work while in recovery. Residents must only abide by the rules of the home, but if they ever use drugs or alcohol while a resident they are immediately expelled from the house. Residents may stay as long as they need to, although most stay about 1 year.

Admissions Process

Oxford House is self-run, peer-supported recovery housing for women. There is no clinical staff on site and no walk-in admission — applicants are accepted by a vote of the current residents after an interview. Interviews are held Wed 5:45pm. Call the house on (207) 823-1815 to ask about openings and arrange an interview. The chapter contact for this house is Nikki — (603) 212-8082. Please phone before visiting. Current vacancies are published by Oxford House at oxfordvacancies.com.

Hope and pray a loved one never stays here. It's more of a crutch than a step.
