I stayed here as a residential kid after being removed from the care of my parents in 1989-1992. I had many positive experiences like at Christmas when we went to Washington DC and the Salvation Army soldiers brought us gifts off our wishlist and corn on the Cobb night where we ate as much corn on the Cobb we could manage to eat. I also had a very bad experience with one of the male staff was inappropriate with me. I ran away and went to the police and they brought me back. The staff called a meeting and brought my abuser into the room and asked me if my accusations were true. He was staring at me angrily and I got scared and denied it. I was 10yrs old. I hope things have changed since I was there.
